Essentials in Biostatistics

This training is intended as a comprehensive introduction and refresher to biostatistics in clinical research. The course includes a review of the most common techniques in the field, as well as the cases in which these techniques are applied.
Objectives

At the end of the training, participants will:
- Understand the basic terminology used in biostatistics
- Be familiar with the stages of data processing (entry, cleaning and management)
- Have an overview of the descriptive statistics (for categorical and continuous variables)
- Understand the basics of inferential statistics (confidence interval and p-value)
- Recognize the different measures of association and be able to calculate them (OR, RR, etc..)
