The Clinical Research Process from Initiation to Publication

This training covers the basic concepts of clinical research. It provides an introductory overview and focuses on the main areas of why and how clinical research is carried out, the importance of ethics in research, and an outline of the five main clinical study designs.
Objectives

At the end of the training, participants will:
- Describe the infrastructure required in performing clinical research and the steps involved in developing, conducting, running, and funding research studies
- Have an overview of basic biostatistical and epidemiologic methods involved in conducting clinical research
- Describe principles and issues involved in monitoring patient-oriented research
